Well, it's later...

The long and short of it was that I've moved, to Georgia no less. I'm sorry for being silent for so long, I got busy and LJ hasn't really been on my mind; I should start updating this thing more often.

Well, that and political shit anyway. sharona1x2, you aren't the only one who is angry. I am too. And worried for the next eight years, can I hope the SS looks the other way while he's assassinated?

No? Pity...

I'm going to get something to drink.

Long rant ahead with background info

Ok, for those who don't know me IRL I can't drive for medical and other reasons.

I have been with the company that helps due to the above since 2011ish, but for the last few months not only have I had staff layovers (been this way for years), but now they aren't even giving me my schedule on time and further more I'm losing hours because they can't get their damn shit together and give me staff. A month ago there was talk about having a meeting for a new staff person which never happened and nothing since then! Not only that but I had a IMPG meeting with my case manager and Help at Home (who is supposed to be at these meetings) didn't show up for this one, yet again. They did this the last quarterly too! I'm pretty damn fed up with HAH at this point, if they don't show up for the next meeting, I will be leaving!

Thoughts, or what could have been done right in the new movie.

Ok, let me first start off by saying I'm not new to the franchise. In fact I grew up watching Episodes 4-6 and saw part of episode 1. Granted, my memory of the ending for episode 6 is a bit fuzzy. But on to the review itself:

Episode 7 is not a bad sequel to the franchise, I however think that they could have pushed it back a little and either made a 6.5 or included a little more background into the new characters and even some of the old favorites. Granted, the pre-established characters had enough to follow along but it was the new ones introduced that really had plot holes in theirs. For example: Ren (spoilers ahead), how and why exactly did he fall to the dark side? I get that he had daddy issues, but I think there's more to it that we just don't know...

And speaking of his father, way to go. Not even Vader wanted his family dead, subverted yes, but not dead.

The callbacks from the previous entries in the series were a little hamhanded and way too much.

The whole movie was basically a 'where is Waldo - sorry- Luke. And even then it is never stated which planet he is on.

3.5 stars. I'll watch 8 just to see what happens and if the plot holes are fixed, but I won't be doing it in IMAX.

(no subject)

I had an idea whack me over the head a few hours ago. I'll work on it in the morning.... Looking at the entry I need isn't going to help tonight.

IRC channel rules for Luurahfansubs

1. The primary language in the channel is English, if you're not a native speaker at least make it somewhat coherent. Thank you.

2. Do not harass the admins in any way shape or form, this includes trolling and being a general arsehole. First offense gets you a 30 minute ban, second is a day and third is a perm ban and you, plus any other nick you come up with will be kickbanned thereafter.

2a. Just in case you don't get it, do NOT do the following:

Pestering us by asking when the next episode will be out, it will be out when we say it's ready, not before. Doing so will just annoy us and make us delay it even more.

Rudely telling the QCer(s)/translators that their editing/translating sucks and that he/she can do a better job at it. If you think you can do better then go right ahead, prove to me that you can and I just might (note, might; read: Doubtful) see about making you a QCer/FQCer/translator. Until then shut the bloody hell up and let me do my own job.

3. More rules to likely follow as we get more people in.

Blood Bound by Rachel Vicent

I'm ecstatic about this book, not only because of her previous series but the following things below:

Blood Bound's blurb:

By blood, by word, by magic…

Most can't touch the power. But Liv Warren is special— a paranormal tracker who follows the scent of blood.

Liv makes her own rules, and the most important one is trust no one.

But when her friend's daughter goes missing, Liv has no choice but to find the girl. Thanks to a childhood oath, Liv can't rest until the child is home safe. But that means trusting Cam Caballero, the former lover forbidden to her.

Bound by an oath and lost in desire for a man she cannot have, Liv is racing to save the child from a dark criminal underworld where secrets, lies, trauma and danger lurk around every corner… Every touch… Every kiss.

And more blood will be spilled before it's over…

Also here's the official video teaser as well:
